Is that music? I wake up to the sound of the aging alto voice of my little mom singing! It doesn't catch my attention because it is majestically melodious, but because not a single syllable of one word has been missed! "Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine. Oh, what a foretaste of glory define! Heir of salvation, purchased of God, born of His Spirit, washed in his blood." Straining to reach the high notes with gusto and joy she finishes with, "This is my story! This is my song! Praising my Savior all the day long; this is my story this is my song! Praising my Savior were all the day long!" What a beautiful sound to hear first thing in the morning!
I go join my little mom and her sweet husband as they finish their devotion time. They both begin quoting by memory Psalm 23. "The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want ... He restores my soul ...yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life." I am blown away! I applaud. My little mom smiles!
In the Bible, God talks about His word being a living thing. Jesus tells us it brings life to dry bones, it feeds our soul, and it never returns empty! It is written on our hearts...a place safe from the invisible memory eraser!
Just a few minutes later, my little mom fed Katie her third breakfast because, "Someone needs to feed the Baby her breakfast!" Katie didn't seem to mind!
